Look what Santa brough me!

Santa brought Danica a ball pit. She Loves it! She yells "Ball pit!" and jumps in it. Here is a picture of Leslie and Danica on Christmas morning.

Sombrero

My sister and her husband take off for Mexico every November. Tami always asks everyone what they want while she is south of the border. Leslie was dead set on getting a real sombrero this year. SO that is exactly what Aunt Tami brought back. It is actually a charo (sp), which is just a fancy sombrero. It is hanging on a wall in Leslie's room, but she would like to wear it to school. I don't think it will fit thru the door. I should have taken the picture on a different colored wall, but oh well. You get the idea.

Tiny Dancer

Aunt Millie brought down several pairs of tap shoes. One pair was too small for Leslie so Danica is wearing them ALL the time! In one more year she can start dance lessons!

Danica

Just some fun pictures of Danica. We got a gift card from my Grandma for Christmas so we were able to get a new TV stand for the new TV! Danica did a good job helping Dad put it together.

Halloween video

Halloween!!

On Halloween we had lots of things going on. Leslie carved a pumpkin pretty much all by herself and did a great job. She had some friends over in the afternoon and they played in the leaves, made mummies out of toilet paper and then we made cupcakes for snacks. The skunk is our little neighbor, Leah. That was the cutest outfit ever! During trick or treats, Jac and I finally had to take our kids and kind of split up. Leslie is way to fast. She also ditched Isaac in a haunted house thing and he started slaying people with his sword. She was like "Mom! I told him to come on and he said no, so I said then you just stay right here and wait." Oh well. She ment well. Nephi had to work so he could not join us, but he has been having fun inspecting the candy.

Trip to Aunt Tami and Uncle Bruce

We went to Tonganoxie, Kansas last weekend. It is about 15 minutes away from the race track and great wolf lodge area. My sister wanted to spoil the kids, so I let her. The pictures are of us at the dinosaur restaurant. Danica and Leslie both loved it! At first Danica was a little scared the big T-rex was going to eat her, but when I started waving and saying hi to the enormous creature, Danica finally thought it was pretty cool and was not scared anymore. We had a good time and Tami and Leslie LOVE to shop. We pretty much never go to a mall or anything, so things like this are pretty special for Leslie.

Conferences!!

Yeah Leslie!! Once again we had great conferences! She is in the highest guided reading level! Only 5 other students in the whole second grade are and I am sooo proud of her! She is in the higher paced math group again and exceeding expectations from the teacher. She is also very respectful and a fun kid to have in class.

Squirrels!

The squirrels have been having a lot of fun eating apart our pumpkins! I watched one of the squirrels actually take one of the mini-pumpkins up the tree and chew it up. I also saw the naughty squirrel that gutted our large pumpkin! The pumpkin had a spider head, but it obviously fell off. I love squirrels though so I will not complain too much!

The wooden object is a big wooden swing set with a slide that was given to us by some friends. Their children do not play with it anymore. Now all we have to do is put it back together! Danica likes to run under it for now.

Leslie's sister came over for a visit and brought her little baby Angel. Danica decided to help feed her supper.

Play Time

Fun Sunday

One Sunday afternoon, my friend Paula, along with her daughter Leah, invited us to go to Nebraska City with them to the National Arbor Day Farm. There were a lot of activities going on that weekend. The girls had a pony ride, and Leslie made a rope and got to see how cider is pressed. When we left, we went a few miles up the road to Kimmell Orchard. We got to take a long hay rack ride (with a very chatty driver!) through the orchard to pick apples. Danica LOVED that! We bought some cider and spiced apple doughnuts. YUM!

Family Fun

Just some fun pics of the kids. One week we received so much rain and Danica would stand at the door with her shoes crying "Play outside mom!" I felt so bad for her. I ended up putting Leslie's tent in the living room so she could have some fun with that. Nephi enjoyed taking naps.

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Leslie just started her hip-hop lessons today. Here is a little clip. I can't stand hip-hop music, but it's her decision and she loves to dance. Nephi took her to lessons and was texting me with what they were dancing too. He got a kick out of it. He likes to dance as much as Leslie!

Shenfest

This weekend was Shenfest. We all went to the parade. I think Dan had more fun getting candy than anyone! Danica sat on his lap pretty much the whole time. She loves her playful Uncle Dan. Leslie got to ride in the ambulance for part of the parade and she had a blast.

I get the foosball table to myself!

Danica loves to try to play foosball. She got on the table one time when I went to get a drink of water.

We hang out with our neighbors quite often. It is like a second home to the kids. The little girls love the sidewalk chalk and one of their favorite things to do is lay down and let someone trace them! So basically we have little body outlines all over their driveway. That's great for Leslie, who for now wants to be an F.B.I. agent when she grows up!

Alphabet

Danica knows most of her letters!! We are very proud!

Grasshopper Fun

Danica and Leslie had some fun playing with this grasshopper.

YIKES!

Okay.

For all my friends Republican and Democrat I somehow started a unintentional war of swapping websites and political comments. It all happened very suddenly too! I have deleted everything political (well, except this) on the blog. If you want to have any friendly debates feel free to email!

Danica in the laundry basket

Nephi was folding laundry in the bedroom and Danica decided to have some silly time in the mesh clothes basket.

Sponge Bob

We never really watch Sponge Bob anymore, but Leslie still has to act out some of her favorite episodes.

Dad and Danica

Just some fun pics of Nephi and Danica. They have a little cuddle fest before he goes to work.

Lazy Sunday

On Saturday we met up with the Autry's, Kimpston's and Grandma Joy and Grandpa Kevin and Viking Lake State Park. We were all so busy I did not have time to get many pics, but before we left, Leslie had to jump in the lake and take one last swim....with her shorts on!

We enjoyed a nice Sunday at home playing outside and visiting with the neighbors. Seems like everyone wanted to do yard work! These are just some misc. pics of the kids.

Pictures

Here are some fun pics. Leslie on her first day of second grade. Danica in her daddy's boots playing the piano with Lucy, and Danica getting a kiss from the neighbor girl, Leah.

Leslie has a thing for painting her face lately. She does it all by herself. She is sitting with her Aunt Millie and Millie's most beloved dog Bandit. I swear Bandit never moves. You never know the dog is there!

Fun at the Park

We had a picnic lunch at the park with Aunt Jacque and the kids last week. Leslie's friend Jordyn and her mom joined us too!

Going Bananas

Danica can not get through the day if she does not have her daily banana. She loves them!

Swim Lessons

Leslie had swim lessons for two weeks in July. She really enjoyed it. Danica loved to play on this manhole cover every time we went. She just sat there looking at leaves, and inspecting dirt and rocks.
